The German mezzo-soprano, Anna Ziegelmeir, and initially studied music education with a focus on singing at the Münchner Musikhochschule before focusing on her work as a singer. She was a member of the Bayrischen Landesjugendchors and the Jungen Münchner Vokalensembles. She received vocal inspiration from Tanja Elbert, Bernhard Spingler and Manuela Dill, among others.
Anna Ziegelmeir's broad solo repertoire ranges from Renaissance and Baroque music to contemporary productions. In addition to the usual oratorios, she can regularly be heard in numerous masses by W.A. Mozart, Haydn and works such as Alessandro Scarlatti's St. John Passion. She also works as a soloist in numerous formats, such as in several solo productions (most recently with works by Ligeti and J.S. Bach) by Frieder Bernius. She has gained extensive stage experience in various ensemble productions, some of which were solo, at the Bayrischen Staatsoper, most recently in the production Lucretia/Der Mond. In a wide variety of solo ensembles, she devotes herself in particular to literature from the Renaissance and Baroque periods.
In addition to her solo performances, Anna Ziegelmeir regularly works in various larger professional ensembles, including the Kammerchor Stuttgart (Director: Frieder Bernius), Chor der Bayrischen Staatsoper, Vocalensemble Rastatt (Director: Holger Speck), Philharmonischen Chor München, Vokalensemble des Mozarteum Salzburg and many more. Here she has been gaining experience since 2012 under the direction of Kent Nagano, Philippe Herreweghe, Lorin Maazel, Kurt Masur, Ton Koopman, Christian Thielemann, Andrew Manze, Kiril Petrenko and Vladimir Jurowski, among others. She has taken part in numerous radio productions, particularly for BR and SWR. She also has a busy concert schedule with her vocal soloist ensemble Voxonans. She currently lives in Munich, Germany. |
