The Hungarian soprano, Eszter Zemlényi, graduated from the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in 2013, obtaining a degree in oratorio singing as a student of Katalin Halmai. Since 2016, her singing teacher has been Ingrid Kertesi. She has won numerous awards, including special prize at the First National József Gregor Singing Competition. In 2016, she was awarded the Annie Fischer Performing Arts Grant, and in the same year she won a special prize at the International József Simándy Singing Competition, first prize at the Emil Petrovics Singing Competition and third prize at the Klaudia Taev International Singing Competition in Estonia.
Since 2008 Eszter Zemlényi has performed extensively on the Hungarian opera and oratorio scene. She engages with contemporary music in Hungary and has performed living Hungarian composers in tours in Sweden and Transylvania. She currently lives in Budapest, Hungary. |
