The American soprano, Sara Lin Yoder, received her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (2013), where she was a student of Wendy Zaro-Mullins and performed the roles of Susi in Die Fledermaus,Jessica in Sister Carrie, and Aschera in Apocalypse Now and Then, Nanetta in Falstaff and Ida in Die Fledermaus. In the summer of 2012, she worked as a studio artist for the Mill City Summer Opera in their production of I Pagliacci. In the Spring 2016, she earned her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado at Boulder (2014-2016), where she performed the roles of Despina in W.A. Mozart's Cosi fan tutte, Poppea in L’incoronazione di Poppea, Clorinda in La Cenerentola, Constance in Francis Poulenc's Dialogues of the Carmelites, and Laurie in The Tender Land.
Sara Lin Yoder is finding her niche in early and new music. Her interest in new music was discovered in 2012 while working with Grammy Award winning composers Robert Aldridge and Hershel Garfein to workshop the role of Jessica in their new production of Sister Carrie. She has also workshopped Aschera in Apocalypse: Now and Then (Manuel Kerer, Guerino Mazzola), Susan in A Song for Susan Smith (Zach Redler, Mark Campbell) and Mary in It’s a Wonderful Life (Jake Heggie, Gene Scheer). She currently resides in New York City. |
