The German soprano, Cornelia Wosnitza, studied singing at the Musikhochschule in Dresden.
After finishing her studies, Cornelia Wosnitza was engaged at the Semperoper in Dresden. From 1989 to 1994 she was an ensemble member of the Staatsoper Hannover and sang there all the major roles. Guest performances have taken her to the opera houses in Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Munich, Amsterdam and Moscow. She sang under conductors such as, inter alia, Gerd Albrecht, Herbert Blomstedt, Marek Janowski, and Stefan Soltesz and with colleagues such as Waltraud Meier, Bernd Weikl and Kurt Moll. At the Theater Erfurt, she sang in the 2000-2001 season Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro and Ännchen in Freischütz.
Cornelia Wosnitza sings Lieder of W.A. Mozart, Schubert, Robert Schumannn (winner of the Robert Schumann competition) and Strauss, but also the works of Blacher, Schedl, Marschner and Eugen d'Albert. She has sung over 50 roles, including Blonde, Pamina, Gilda and Sophie.
