The German bass-baritone, Titus Witt, began his musical training already as child. Apart from violin and piano instruction, he was a member in the Knabenchor St. Michaelis (Professor Gerhard Dickel) of his hometown Hamburg, with singing instruction by Dieter Soltau. He studied singing at the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen with Ks. Mihai Zamfir. Beyond that he got additional training by participating in master-classes with Robert Holl, Ks. Hilde Zadek (Vienna) and Konstantin Poustovoj (Bolshoi Moscow). He received special artistic encouragement from well-known singers as John Shirley-Quirk, Andreas Schmidt and Thomas Quasthoff at the International Bachakademie in Stuttgart under the direction of Helmuth Rilling.
Already during his studies, Titus Witt stated to participate in concerts in his homeland and abroad. He has gained an extensive Lieder and oratorio repertoire of the works Schütz, Bach, Telemann, as well as modern works, and has already appeared as a soloist at the Stadttheater Bremerhaven. From March to June 2005 he is engaged by the Hamburger Kammeroper, Allee Theater, where he appears as Ritter Huldbrand, in the opera Undine by E.T.A. Hoffmann. Recenly he sang the
role of Dandini in Gioacchino Rossini's opera La Cenerentola with the Alle Theatre Ensemle in Hamburg.
