The French mezzo-soprano, Maryseult Wieczorek, had studied the recorder and got also harpsichord training, before moving at age 17 to singing. She received lessons from Greta de Reyghere, William Christie, Jane Berbié, and Nicole Fallien. In April 1997, with Ensemble Amarillis, she won the 1st Prize and a fellowship from the French Ministry of Culture the FNAPEC Chamber music competition.
Maryseult Wieczorek has appeared in France and abroad in recitals of sacred and secular music, and paperticipated in operatic productions: among others Christie (I Sant'Alessio by Landi, Fairy Queen by Purcell), at La Fenice in Venice (Anacreon by Cherubini), and La Scala in Milan (Carillon by Clementi).
Soloist for productions recorded by Erato (Grands Motets by Mondonville, Vespers of the Blessed Virgin by Monteverdi), Maryseult Wieczorek is an actress and singer in Salome by Blanca Li, with music by Charles Koechlin and accompaniment of the Ensemble Amarillis. |
