The Austrian soprano, Léla Wiche, studied an acting, dancing and singing in Vienna (with Hilde Rössel-Majdan, Helena Lazarska, Colleen Holmes) and London (with Jessica Cash). She won prizes in international competitions and received several scholarships for master-classes, including with Hermann Prey und Inge Borkh.
Since 1996, Léla Wiche acts as a freelance opera and operetta, chamber music, Lieder and oratorio singer. Among her roles should be mentioned Donna Anna in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni, Arminda in W.A. Mozart's La Finta Giardiniera, Dido in Dido and Aeneas, Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus, Angèle Didier in Der Graf von Luxemburg, Princess in Der Vogelhändler, Requiem by W.A. Mozart, Messa da Requiem by Verdi, Lobgesang by Felix Mendelssohn and Messiah by George Frideric Handel. The concept of the singer's own concert programs are a major concern.
Lela Wiche has been heard in such renowned venues as the Musikverein Wien, Neuen Oper Wien, Sommerspielen Klosterneuburg, Volksoper, in the concert halls of Vienna, Graz, Klagenfurt, Brucknerhaus Linz, Palau de la Musica Barcelona, Philharmonie Luxembourg, at Jeunesse Musicale, in RadioKulturhaus, at the festivals Allegro vivo, KlangBogen, Spectaculum, Donaufestwochen, Haydn-Festspiele Eisenstadt, Musikwochen Millstatt, Steirisches Kammermusikfestival, Festwochen Gmunden, with the NÖ-Tonkünstler-Orchester in the Schloss Grafenegg, the ORF, as well as in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Poland, Czech Republic, Israel and the USA. As part of Linz09 she performed in January 2009 Franz Hummel's opera drama Fouché. Since 2009 she is a regular guest at the Landestheater Linz (including Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Hello Dolly). She is married and mother of a son. |
