The American bass, Don Whitsitt, was among the most active in the music field at Will Rogers High School (as of 1959). He was vice-president of the choir, of which he had been member for 3 years. He was also a band member, and had been for past 3 years. In 1959 he was the marching band’s drum major. He was selected to attend the Oklahoma All-State Chorus in 1968 and 1959. He was in various schools and church activities and had made appearances in the Round-Up for 3 seasons. He sang with the Four-Flatters, a barbershop quartet and sang with the Lads of Note, a popular quartet around the Tulsa area. In 1969, he appeared at the Carmel Bach Festival under Sandor Salgo. |
