The German bass, Johannes Weinhuber, attended the music high school of the Regensburger Domspatzen. Since 1999, he studied singing with Monika Bürgener at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg. Besides his studies he attended courses at German with H H. Deutsch, I. Hallstein and H.-M. Rauch. At the opera school under the direction of Christa Gernot-Heindl, H.P. Lehmann and Klembt, he participated in several productions. In March 2004 he sang the Count in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro. Since the beginning of his studies, he continued a lively concert activity, especially in the fields of oratorio and Lieder. At the Mozartfest 2002, he was heard as Guglielmo in W.A. Mozart's opera Così fan tutte. In 2002 he won the Armin-Knab-Wettbewerb for Lieder singing, and in 2004 won the prize at the Joseph-Suder-Wettbewerbs in Nürnberg and a scholarship of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation "LiveMusicNow".
From the 2005-2006 season, Johannes Weinhuber has his first permanent engagement at Landestheater Eisenach. |
