The Argentinean-American soprano, Jessica (Jessy) Wald, obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance and Opera from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida (September 2012-December 2016); and her Master of Music degree in Opera Theater - Voice Performance from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey (September 2019-May 2021). She has been performing on stage since the age of seven, having won a number of international competitions, including Univision's Sabado Gigante Opera Competition (Live T.V.) - Won 1st place (December 2012); National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) (January 2017); Classical Singer Vocal Competition - Second round finalist (May 2017); The New York Jewish Music Festival - Won 1st place (2017); Weston Idol Vocal Competition - Won 1st place (April 2019); New York Lyric Opera Theater National Vocal Competition - Semi-Finalist (May 2019).
Jessica Wald is classically trained and sings opera, musical theater, pop, rock, jazz, and spiritual music and has and starred in a plethora of theatrical shows. She portrayed the roles of June Jinkins in Dan Shore’s An Embarrassing Position at the Miami Music Festival (July 2017); Morgana in George Frideric Handel's Alcina at the Music Academy International Trentino Music Festival (July-August 2018); Susanna in W.A. Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and covered the Queen of the Night in W.A. Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with the Manhattan Opera Studio (June 2019). She also performed Juliette’s Waltz from Charles Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette for her Carnegie Hall debut (July 2019). She portrayed the role of Olympia in Les contes d’Hoffmann by Offenbach with Rutgers University (December 2019-February 2020), and has recently performed the role of Proserpina in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo and the full concert work of Lilacs by George Walker.
Jessica Wald taught in Weston and Boca Raton, Florida for 11 years (December 2009-June 2018). She worked as Vocal Sound Healer and Voice Teacher at The Vocal Healer (since October 2020), teacing kids to adults of all ages how to sing any genre, the proper vocal technique, acting, songwriting, music theory, meditation, vocal sound healing, and breathwork; Voice Teacher at OVIMA Global ·(since June 2021), teaching kids and adults the correct vocal technique, acting for singers, songwriting, and music theory; Voice & Piano Teacher at Ethos Sound L.L.C. in Davie, Florida (since August 2021), teaching kids and adults the correct vocal technique, acting for singers, songwriting, and music theory; Teaching Artist at Palm Beach Opera in Florida (since October 2021), including Opera events and Opera story performances for kids. She has also been a cantorial soloist singing in Temples all over South Florida and Israel for fifteen years, including at Temple Beth Israel in
Plantation, Florida (June 2007-December 2014). |
