The Vocalkreis '93 was founded in 1993 in Schafstädt / Saxony-Anhalt. The former students of church music Matthias Schubert and Jörg Bräunig had considered the choir as a unique project, but since then learned that the choir project now already had more than ten repetitions.
The Vocalkreis '93 consists of young people united by the joy of music and choir singing, who come from various communities. The members are, for example, church musicians, theologians, employees and students of various disciplines. The choir is working on targeted projects in the area of the a-cappella choral music, but also with instrumental ensembles of early music. Through choral experience and musical knowledge of the members, it is possible to develop to challenging choral literature of various styles. This is done by individual preparation during a special rehearsal period, often in the form of summer week of rehearsals and a concert. In addition to these concerts the members meet for targeted projects in the course of a year or take part in the performances of cantatas and oratorios with singers in the home churches.
The Vocalkreis '93 has toured various German federal states such as Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Schleswig-Holstein, Bavaria and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. |
