The Hungarian & Mexican-American mezzo-soprano, Carmen Vizin-Esquivel, studies Voice/Opera at DePaul University School of Music (since May 2019; expected graduation: May 2023). She studies there under the tutelage of internationally-acclaimed mezzo-soprano Viktoria Vizin, Ph.D.
Known for her "angelic voice" (Onyx Reviews), Carmen Vizin-Esquivel's recent engagements include La Natura in Francesco Cavalli's opera La Calisto, soloist for the Orgona Post Fesztivál in Hungary (EU) and Bradamante in George Frideric Handel's Alcina with Chicago Summer Opera. She is currently preparing for her first solo concert, hosted by DePaul University. Her following engagements include a Wagner Concert, hosted by the Wagner Society (soloist) and her debut with Berlin Opera Academy as Dritte Dame in W.A. Mozart's opera Die Zauberflöte in Berlin (EU) in the coming Summer of 2022. She is currently based in Chicago, Illinois. |
