The French soprano, Lise Viricel, began singing at the age of 7, and quickly joined La Maîtrise at the Opéra National de Lyon, where she studied for 8 years (1998-2004). This school allowed her to acquire good vocal technique, to approach a wide repertoire and also to learn theater. She then pursued dual training, primarily musical, but also theatrical at Centre de la Voix Rhône-Alpes (2004-2008). In 2008, she joined Marie-Claude Vallin's early music singing class at the CNSMD in Lyon (2008-2013), in which she perfected her knowledge of Baroque styles, and her solo and choral technique, through the exercise of singing one by one. She graduated with a Master of Music degree in Singing in 2013.
Alongside her training, Lise Viricel sings in numerous productions, increasingly oriented towards early music, in concerts around composers such as J.S. Bach, Monteverdi, Purcell, Antonio Vivaldi, Carissimi , Rameau, etc. Her theatrical training allows her to favor the stage, on which she is very comfortable, through recitals (at La Fenice in April 2016) or operas. Thus, she recently performed Eurialo in L'Oristeo by Francesco Cavalli, Céphise in Alcione by Marin Marais, and Ninfa in L'Orfeo by Monteverdi, at the Opéra Comique. She also has excellent experience in single-voice music, particularly in Renaissance and Baroque repertoires, as well as in choir, for which she was particularly trained.
Lise Viricel performs with prestigious ensembles such as Arsys Bourgogne (Director: M. Zeke), Concerto Soave (Director: J.M. Aymes), or La Capella Reial de Catalunya (Director: Jordi Savall). She also belongs to the Ensemble Coclico (Director: B. Janin), with which she specializes in improvised vocal counterpoint techniques of the 15th and 16th centuries. She regularly collaborates with the contemporary dance company Système Castafiore (Karl Biscuit - Marcia Barcellos), notably on the shows Théorie des prodiges and KANTUS 4-XTINCT SPECIES. Finally, in 2020, she created the ensemble Le Stelle, which allows her to tackle the Baroque repertoire as a soloist that is demanding both musically and theatrically. Her disc "Parla, canta, respira" by the Venetian Baroque composer Barbara Strozzi was released in March 2021 under the Seulstar label. Her new creation, Tori, a musical show for young audiences, will be created in the first quarter of 2024. |
