The Bulgarian soprano and pianist, Adriana Velinova, is a graduate of the prestigious National High School of Music “Lyubomir Pipkov” in Sofia, Bulgaria. She obtained her Bachelor of Music degree in in Piano Performance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) under the instruction of Dr. Mykola Suk. (2009); her Undergraduate Diploma in Vocal Performance from Mannes College of Music (2013); and her Master of Music degreee in Vocal Performance from Mannes College of Music (2015). At Mannes College of Music she studied with Beth Roberts and Ruth Falcon. She is a first-prize winner of the 2008 National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Competition, Las Vegas Chapter.
In the field of opera, Adriana Velinova, has performed the roles of Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi (UNLV Opera, 2009); Aurore in Le portrait de Manon (IVAI - Montréal, 2011); Parasha in Mavra (Mannes Opera, 2012); Madama Cortese in Il viaggio a Reims (Mannes Opera, 2013); Nella in Gianni Schicchi (Mannes Opera, 2014).
She has given several recitals: Recital (Bulgarian Concert Evenings, New York) at Consulate General of Bulgaria (2013); Strauss Songs (Mannes Sounds Festival) at German Consulate, New York (2014); Recital - Musical Treasures from Bulgaria at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall (2014). In June 2016, she particpated in a concert of J.S. Bach's Cantatas under the baton of John Harbison at Tanglewood Music Festival . She is also a distinguished piano performer. |
