The Dutch tenor, Louis van Tulder, left the office-stool to dedicate himself to the art of singing, which happend to be a very wise decision.
From 1916 on, Louis van Tulder was first lyrical tenor at the Netherlands Opera House and at the Netherlands Opera in roles as Faust, Lyonel (Martha), Rodolfo (La Boheme).
After 1930, Louis van Tulder was exclusively concert- and oratorio-singer. He has made his debut in this field already in 1912 in Die Jahreszeiten. He Performed about 500 times the role of the Evangelist in J.S. Bach’s Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244). He was also, with lots of success, often asked abroad. |
