The Argentine tenor, Matías [Matias] Tomassetto [Tomasetto], began his musical studies at the Inst. Superior de Música de Trelew in Chubut, his hometown. In 2006 he began singing studies at Universidad Nacional de Arte (UNA) (2006-2012). He studied vocal technique under the guidance of Marta Blanco, Osvaldo Peroni, Elisabeth Canis and Gustavo López Manzitti, with whom he continues to perfect his singing. In 2012 and 2013 he took private lessons in technical and stylistic refinement with tenor Raúl Giménez at the Academia Concertante Barcelona. In 2010, he was the winner of the XII Concurso para Jóvenes Estudiantes de Canto Lírico de la República Argentina at the Scala de San Telmo.
Matías Tomassetto made his professional debut in the opera with Cenicientaaa...!! by Marta Lambertini (2008; CETC). He also played the leading roles of his rope in Bastien und Bastienne, Der Schauspieldirektor, Cosi fan Tutte by W.A. Mozart; La cambiale di matrimonio, Il barbiere di Siviglia, L'italiana in Algeri by Giochino Rossini; The Master of Music by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, Rita by Gaetano Donizetti. In oratorio, he has performed Missa Brevis by Zoltán Kodály; Requiem and Great Mass in C minor by W.A. Mozart; Musiques pour le Funerailles de la Reine Thérese by Marc-Anotoine Charpentier; Messiah by George Frideric Handel; Magnificat (BWV 243) and Mass and B minor (BWV 232) by J.S. Bach, Vespro della Beata Virgine by Claudio Monteverdi.
He debuted at the Teatro Colón performing the role of messenger in G.F. Handel's oratorio Samson. In 2012 sang with the Ensemble Elyma (Switzerland) a repertoire dedicated to the music of the Jesuit missions in Latin America (Fiesta Criolla) conducted by Maestro Gabriel Garrido. Commonly he serves as performerer of vocal chamber music of all periods. Since 2008, he is also a member of Coro Nacional de Jóvenes, under the Ministerio de Cultura de la Nación Argentina (Ministry of Culture of the Nation), directed by Néstor Zadoff. |
