The Dutch contralto / mezzo-soprano, Inger Eske Tibben, grew up in a musical family. She sang from an early age every day and played the piano. In 2008 she began studying music in school; first musical instrument classical piano at the Prins Claus Conservatorium te Groningen. Here she discovered her talent for singing and was encouraged by the soprano Hanneke de Wit to study classical singing. Meanwhile, she is in the 4th year of these studies. In recent years, she took lessons with Hanneke de Wit, Marion van den Akker and Marcel Reijans. Her current teacher is the baritone Marcel Boone. She has attended master-classes followed with Margreet Honig, Pierre Mak, Claron McFadden, Johannette Zomer and Amand Hekkers. She also participted in breathe lessons by Paul Triepels, drama lessons by Philiph Curtis and interpetation lessons by Nico van der Meel.
In recent years, Eske Tibben frequently performed as a soloist in numerous concerts. She sang the alto solo parts in several oratorios, including W.A. Mozart's Requiem, J.S. Bach; Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248), Rossini's Petite Messe Solemnelle, Felix Mendelssohn's Paulus, George Frideric Handel's Messiah. Some conductors with whom she has worked include Louis Buskens, Hans Leenders, Paul Valk and Leendert Runia. Besides singing solo in these great works, she also gave more intimate concerts such as song recitals and chamber music performances. Recently she took part as ensemble singer in "Meesters en Gezellen" conducted by Kaspars Putnins. She also works in ensembles such as Consensus Vocalis (Director: Klaas Stok) and Bachkoor Holland (Director: Gijs Leenaars).
In April and May this year, Eske Tibben will sing the alto in the choir of the Nederlandse Reisopera in performances of Gluck's Orphée et Euridice. She will also be working intensively in the coming months preparing her graduation exams. |
