The Irish soprano, harpist and music teacher, Rachel Thompson, studied at Wallace High School in Lisburn. She obtained her LTCL Diploma from Trinity College London; and her Bachelor of Music degree (Hons) from the University of Manchester (1993-1996). She returned to Northern Ireland to train with the late Irene Standford.
Rachel Thompson works as a freelance soprano, singing and piano teacher, and harpist since September 2011. She is soprano in the Irish choral group Anúna (since August 2010) and a choir member in Cappella Amsterdam (Director: Daniel Reuss; since June 2014). She has sung as a soloist with Antrim Choral Society (November 2009) and Belfast Bach Consort: Cantata Series (May 2011)
Besides her musical activities, Rachel Thompson is, together with her husband Robert, the owner of Marlagh Lodge Country House (since June 2003). She is an accountant by trade and worked as Finance Assistant at Navigator Blue (February 2009-September 2011. She currently lives in Arnhem, the Netherlands. |
