The English soprano, Eleanor Thompson, graduated with Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Literature (British and Commonwealth) from the University of York (2011-2014). In 2011-2012, she was a member of the first year of The Sixteen's prestigious training programme, Genesis Sixteen, and while at York have worked on expanding her solo repertoire.
Eleanor Thompson is an aspiring choral & oratorio soprano, based in Oxford and York. Performances include George Frideric Handel's Messiah and J.S. Bach's Magnificat (BWV 243), with previous solo experience including G.F. Handel's Dixit Dominus, Allegri's Miserere and Haydn's Nelson Mass & St Nicholas Mass. Most recently, she performed the role of Elvira in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni at York's Grand Opera House. She has sung with various vocal ensembles such as the University of York Chamber Choir; Spectrum; Albarosa; Yorkshire Bach Choir.
Eleanor Thompson worked as Grade 2 Bookseller at Blackwells Music (2011-2013). Since 2014 she is Festival Administrative Assistant at Oxford Lieder Festival (Front of house, website editing, spreadsheet updating, online listings, mailing). |
