The American mezzo-soprano, Pamela Terry, obtained her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music (2003-2007), where she studied with Carol Webber
Pamela Terry embraces versatility as the foundation of her musical career. As a member of the GRAMMY® nominated Trinity Wall Street Choir (since September 2017; Director: Julian Wachner), she finds joy interpreting and improvising across classical and popular styles, alike. Recent performance highlights include Tyshawn Sorey’s Monochromatic Light, Julia Wolfe’s Anthracite Fields, Huang Ruo’s Book of Mountains and Seas, Paola Prestini's Silent Light, and Ellen Reid’s p r i s m, winner of the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Music.
Prior to establishing her career in NYC, Pamela Terry served as a vocalist with The US Army Field Band (2011-2017) and The US Army Band “Pershing’s Own” in Washington, DC, representing the USA as a soloist in forty-eight states and internationally, including performances throughout China in an historic exchange with The Military Band of the People’s Liberation Army of China. She was also the vocal soloist for the 63rd Annual National Veterans Day Observance at Arlington National Cemetery with then-President Obama in attendance.
As a soloist, Pamela Terry has appeared with the Boston Pops Orchestra, the Charlotte Symphony, the Jacksonville Symphony, and made her Kennedy Center debut with The Washington Chorus. As a choral artist, she performs with Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Voices of Ascension, Antioch Chamber Ensemble, and Ensemble Altera, among others.
In addition to her Master of Music from Eastman, Pamela Terry earned a Master of Social Work from NYU’s Silver School of Social Work (2017-2020) as a part of her commitment to personal and collective healing, trauma-informed practices within arts institutions, and music-making in service of social change. |
