The Korean-German soprano, Hyun-Soo Suk (AKA: Hyeonsoo Seok, Rebecca Suk; Korean: 석현수), moved to Germany at the age of 15 and graduated from CJD-Versmold music middle and high school. After graduating from the Department of Vocal Music at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main (Frankfurt National University of Music), she graduated from the Diploma Course (KA) and the Top Performer Course (KE) at the same graduate school. graduated from the Department of Vocal Music and the Graduate School of the National University of Music in Frankfurt, Germany, with a diploma course and a top performer course.
Having developed her skills while studying in Europe, the hometown of music, Hyun-Soo Suk was active as a leading member of the Teatro Calderon in Spain and the Erfurt National Opera House in Germany. In Europe and Korea, she worked as a leading member of W.A. Mozart's operas Le nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberflöte and Così fan tutte. She was recognized for his skills by appearing in numerous operas, including Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore, J. Strauss' Die Fledermaus, Ariadne auf Naxos, Der Rosenkavalier, Rigoletto, Cozypantoute, and The Merry Wives of Windsor.
In addition, Hyun-Soo Suk has appeared as a soloist with prominent orchestras and ensembles such as KBS Symphony Orchestra, Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, Camerata Antiqua Seoul, Incheon Municipal Choir, Suwon Municipal Choir, Goyang Municipal Choir, Seongnam Municipal Choir, Daejeon Municipal Choir, and Chuncheon Municipal Choir, in oratorios and sacred works as George Frideric Handel's Messiah and Dixit Dominus; Felix Mendelssohn's Elijah; Haydn's Creation; W.A. Hyun-Soo Suk has appeared in numerous operas, such as W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro and Così fan tutte and J. Strauss' Die Fledermaus. She performed as a soloist ith orchestras such as the KBS Symphony Orchestra and Camerata Antiqua, and oratorios such as George Frideric Handel's Messiah, Felix Mendelssohn's Elijah, J. Haydn's Creation of Heaven and Earth, W.A. Mozart's Great Mass in C minor, J.S. Bach's Mass in B minor BWV 232.
Hyun-Soo Suk has served as an adjunct professor at Hansae University and lecturer at Sookmyung Women's University, Ewha Womans University, Chugye University of the Arts, Hanyang University, Myongji University, Korea National University of Arts, and Seoul National University. |
