The Swedish tenor, Olle Sivall, was trained and sung at the College of Music in Stockholm from 1937 to 1945, primarily pupil of Julia Claussen and Joseph Hislop.
Olle Sivall made his debut in 1946 at the Rikstheater (Swedish National Theatre Centre) in Stockholm as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, and from 1948 to 1953 was engaged at the Stora Theatre in Göteborg. From 1954 to 1973 he belonged to the ensemble of the Royal Opera in Stockholm. He became estimated by his performance of the title role in Petrus de Dacia by Mehler at the Festival of Visby auf Gotland in the years 1947-1967.
On the opera stage Olle Sivall left the strongest impression as Count Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, as Ferrando in Così fan tutte, as Arnoldo in Rossini’s Wilhelm Tell, as Hoffmann in Hoffmanns Erzählungen by Offenbach. He shone in Buffo roles (Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro, Mime the Ring Cycle, title role in Albert Herring by Benjamin Britten). In October 1956 he appeared at the Stockholm Opera in the premiere of the opera Porträttet by Hilding Rosenberg, In May 1959 in the premiere of the opera Aniara by Blomdahl, at the Stockholm’s Blancheteater in November 1958 in Sven-Erik Bäck’s opera Gästabudet. He had also a great career as an oratorio and church singer. He was also a member of the Engelbrekt church choir in Stockholm.
