The Russian counter-tenor, Mikhail Shirochenko (Михаил Широченко), was born in the city of Langepasa, where he received his primary education from excellent teachers in the class of violin and accordion. He began to show interest in singing from an early age. He received his first education at the Khanty-Mansiysk Arts Center for Gifted Children of the North under the direction of Tatyana Timasheva as a counter-tenor. After graduating from college, he entered the Novosibirsk Glinka Conservatory (2014-2016). As a student, he made his debut at the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater as Gherardino (Puccini's Gianni Schicchi).
The desire to be in the center of the creative and musical life of the country led Mikhail Shirochenko in 2016 to the studio of Igor Yasulovich and Alexander Titel, the Russian Institute of Theater Arts "GITIS". The singer calls a special success meeting with his vocal teachers Boris Tonkikh and Evgeny Zhuravkin, who developed the natural musicality of the artist and helped to reach in 2018 the level of the Bolshoi Theater, where Mikhail came as a 4th year student. Under the leadership of Dmitry Vdovin, the head and founder of the "Youth Opera Program" of the State Bolshoi Theater of Russia, he received excellent professional training for an international career from the best coaches and teachers of our time, such as: Eva Marton, Dayan Zola, Evamaria Wieser, Michelle Wegvart, Makvala Kasrashvili, Lyubov Orfenov, Fabian Shofrin, Semyon Skigin, etc.
Mikhail Shirochenko participated in concerts on the historical stage, in the Beethoven Hall. In 2019, on the stage of the GITIS Theater, he sang the part of the Spirit in the opera Dido and Aeneas (Production by A.B. Titel, conductor Timur Zangiev). The skill of the singer and his preparation showed their results on the project “Big Opera” on the TV channel "Culture", where he reached the final and won the recognition of the public. He has performed with the Bolshoi Symphony, Pavel Kogan Orchestra, National Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Singing Center. He is actively performing in Russia. The repertoire is dominated by the Baroque music of George Frideric Handel, Johann Adolf Hasse, Purcell, Antonio Vivaldi. |
