The American tenor singer and audio enginner, David Brian Sexton, studied in the renowned Recording Arts & Sciences and Voice programs at The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He obtained there his Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance (2015-2019); and his Bachelor of Music degree in Recording Arts & Sciences (2015-2020).
As an engineer, David Sexton specializes in acoustic recording, working primarily with classical and jazz musicians. He has worked for the Boston Symphony Orchestra since 2019 as well as individuals and other organizations in the Boston area. He is also well-versed in livestream technology: he launched An die Musik Live!’s livestream series (March 2020-June 2021) and continues to run many of the Harvard Musical Association’s livestreams. He was Assistant Audio Engineer (June-September 2019) and Associate Audio Engineer at Tanglewood Music Center (June-August 2021). Since March 2022, he is Production Assistant at Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
An avid performer, David Sexton has garnered appearances as a soloist in oratorios and masses with the Peabody Symphony Orchestra and with the Trinity Church in the City of Boston’s choir and orchestra. He is one of the staff singers at the historic Trinity Church (since September 2021). He has also performed operatic roles as a student and with Opera Alchemy (Baltimore). He was appointed Associate Organist during his 4th season as a staff singer at Mt. Calvary Catholic Church [Baltimore] (September 2018-May 2019), and was a regular substitute in subsequent seasons, as well Tenor Staff Singer (September 2015-June 2021).
Aside from professional interests and experiences, David Sexton is an avid football (soccer) player and cyclist. While a student, he developed a passion for specialty coffee through part-time jobs at coffee shops and loves to share the experience of well-crafted coffee with his friends and family. David is an audio engineer and performer currently based in Boston. |
