The American Baritone, Andrew Schroeder, was a winner of the 1991 Opera America William Mattheus Sullivan Grant and the 1994 George London Foundation's Bruce Yarnell Award and was a finalist in the 1998 Plácido Domingo Operalia. Andrew Schroeder's early operatic training included apprenticeships with the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
Operatic engagements have included Gluck's Iphigenie en Tauride with the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC, Georges Bizet's Carmen in Hamburg, Amsterdam, and in the USA with the Berkshire Opera, the Kansas City Symphony and the Cleveland Symphony, Charles Gounod's Faust with Madison Opera, W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro with Utah Opera, a co-production of Berlioz's Beatrice et Benedict with the Grand Theatre de Tours and the Theatre de Nancy et Lorraine, Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia with the Canterbury Opera in New Zealand, Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin with the English National Opera in London and at Theatre du Capitole in Toulouse, Henze's Der Prinz von Homburg at the Spoleto Festival in Italy and others.
As a concert artist, Andrew Schroeder has appeared with the Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra, Pacific Sympony and Minnesota Orchestra. Andrew Schroeder sang the role of Jesus in Jonathan Miller's staged productions of J.S. Bach's St Matthew Passion (BWV 244) both in 1997 and 2001. |
