Hasmik Schreider (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: October 5, 1998 - Erevan, Yerevan, Armenia

The Armenian mezzo-soprano, Hasmik Schreider, discovered her inexhaustible passion for music in her early childhood. At the age of 6, she performed in numerous concerts as part of a children's and youth vocal ensemble and learned the basics of musical performance. At the age of 15, she began to train her voice professionally and received her first singing lessons in the classical field. Her pursuit of musical excellence led her to the Romanos Melikyan State Music Academy in Armenia in 2013, where she deepened her knowledge and developed her individual artistic expression. In 2017, she completed her musical education and impressed the audience with her first solo concert in the Avetik Isahakyan Museum. From 2014 to 2018, she honed her skills as a member of the "ARAR" women's choir under the direction of Gor Melkumyan, who continued to encourage and inspire her.

In 2018, Hasmik Schreider moved to Germany to continue her studies and explore new musical horizons. She studied singing at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln: Wuppertal campus, with Heike Susanne Daum (2019-2023). During this time, she sang in the Symphonischen Chor der Chorakademie am Konzerthaus Dortmund under the direction of Joachim Gerbens. Here she had the opportunity to develop a broad repertoire that mainly included a capella literature, oratorio works and choral music of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Hasmik Schreider demonstrated her skills as a soloist in various performances with literature from opera, Lied and oratorio in concerts at the Musikhochschule Wuppertal. In 2021 she performed as a contralto in the production Moby Dick in Wuppertal and Düsseldorf and in September 2022 she appeared in the film production The Island in Paris, in collaboration with the renowned composer Alexander Balanescu. For her exceptional talent and dedication to music, she was awarded a Deutschlandstipendium from 2021 to 2022 and was an academic in the WDR Rundfunkchor Köln from 2022 to 2023.

Since October 2023 Hasmik Schreider has been perfecting her skills and continuing her artistic journey in the Master's program in singing at the Robert Schumann Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf, in the class of Anja Paulus. In August 2024 she will participate in the Bayreuther Festspielen as a Richard Wagner Stipendiatin, which further underlines her impressive career. She currently lives in Schwelm, Germany.
