The American tenor and choral conductor, Michael Schmidt, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education, Voice from Westminster Choir College (2003-2008); his MAT degree in Education from Rider University (2007-2008; Thesis: "The Implementation of Vocal Pedagogy in the Choral Rehearsal"); his Supervisors Certificate from Centenary College (2014-2015). Since 2016, he studies for his DMA degree in Choral Music at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (expected graduation in 2021).
Michael Schmidt has worked as Music Teacher/High School Choir Director at North Hunterdon-Voorhees Regional School District (August 2009-June 2016); Interim Conductor at Hunterdon Choral Union in Flemmington, New Jersey (September 2011-April 2012); Minister of Music at First United Church of Christ in Hellertown, Pa (September 2011-June 2013); Minister of Music at St. Paul Lutheran Church in East Windsor, New Jersey (July 2013-2016)); Organist at Wesley United Methodist Church at the University of Illinois in Urbana (August 2016-April 2018); Instructor of Voice at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston (August 2017-May 2018); Interim Conductor of the University of Illinois Varsity Men's Glee Club at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (August 2017-May 2018). Since september 2018, he is Director of Choirs at Scarsdale Senior High School in Scarsdale, New York.
