The German-born soprano, Carol Schlaikjer (now Carol Cybulska), received her vocal training at the Music Conservatory in Cologne, Germany, and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basle, Switzerland.
Carol Schlaikjer lived for almost two decades in Germany, where she was a frequent soloist for the Lutheran Church radio broadcasts in Frankfurt am Main. She has performed throughout Europe, Australia and the USA as a concert and recording artist, both as a soloist and as a member of various early music ensembles, including Sequentia’s Vox Feminae and the Huelgas Ensemble in Europe and more recently with the Cambridge Bach Ensemble and The Blue Heron Renaissance Choir in the USA (Director of both: Scott Metcalfe).
Carol Schlaikjer She is a founding member of the Aujourd'hui Ensemble, which performs a wide variety of chamber music. She is co-director of the Orpheus Vocal Performance Laboratory in Kingston, Massachusetts, which holds summer workshops for young singers on the South Shore. She also teaches voice in her private voice studio in Kingston and in the Pembroke High School after-school music program. |
