The Italian mezzo-soprano, Anna Schiatti, studied music in Reggio Emilia, her home town.
After carrying out an intense concert and oratorio activity, Anna Schiatti debuted in 1989 in Novara with Tabarro by Puccini and Cavalleria Rusticana. Since then she has appeared in many theaters and opera houses, Italian and foreign, in various roles of works from her repertoire: Nabucco (Verona, Frankfurt, Bergamo, Brescia, Lyon); Rigoletto (Rome, Caracalla, Verona, Tenerife, USA); Il Trovatore (Trapani, Czech Republic, Germany, Verona); Aida (Tokyo, Verona with Placido Domingo, Taormina, Trapani); Cavalleria Rusticana (Genoa, Palermo, Madrid).
In addition to the operatic repertoire Anna Schiatti has sung Requiem by Verdi, Petite Messe Solennelle and Stabat Mater by Rossini, Requiem and Solemn Vespers by W.A. Mozart, Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, Sette Parole di N.S.G.C. (Seven Words of Our Lord Jesus Christ ) by Mercadante, Transitus Animae by Perosi, as well as compositions Lieder by Johannes Brahms and Gustav Mahler.
The last few seasons have seen Anna Schiatti starring in Palm Beach (USA), Syracuse, Monreale, Novara, Catania. Soon she will be involved in several productions of Andrea Chenier in Catania, Parma and Piacenza. |
