The French bass-baritone and actor, David Schavelzon, received years of training devoted to theater, music and sininging. He then practicd the acting profession and addressed the classic repertoire (Shakespeare, Marivaux, Musset ...), modern (Büchner, Chekhov, Von Horvath, Vian ...) with various stage directors (J.L. Bihoreau, Alain Béhar, Pascal Tédes...).
With a full-fledged acting career, having also continued to study singing, David Schavelzon ventures into music, musical theatre and the world of opera. This has led him the musical theater (compagnie du Tabouret, Péniche-Opéra, festival de Gavarnie...,) under the direction of François Joxe, Éric Krüger, Sugheeta Fribourg....
For a few years now he has been regularly collaborating with numerous ensembles of varying repertories, including Chœur de Chambre Accentus (Director: Laurence Equilbey), Akadêmia Ensemble (Director: Françoise Lasserre), Le Concert d'Astrée (Director: Emmanuelle Haïm), etc. He is also working with the choirs of the Théâtre du Châtelet and the Opéra National de Paris. He sings the Baroque, Classical and Romantic repertoires. Evolving between two worlds (between the stage and the singing) are striving. This reconciling (or reconcile), and look for answers questions facing the actor who wants to sing, and singer which must play. A final aspect of his personal laboratory, David Schavelzon also performs staged operettas and musical shows. |
