Werner Rollenmüller (Bass)

Born: 1966 - Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany

The German bass, Werner Rollenmüller, studied singing from 1985 to 1991 at the Leopold-Mozart-Conservatorium Augsburg. He then attended the opera school of the College of Music and the Performing Arts in Stuttgart (with A. Treml, 1990-1991) and, at the same time, with the support of the Richard Wagner Society and the German Theatre Association continued his singing studies with Kurt Moll in Cologne. Following a one-year period of study with Oren Brown in New York, he began his career as a concert and oratorio singer in 1996, including appearances with the Mainzer Domsingknaben Choir, the Heinrich Schütz Ensemble Munich and the Frankfurt Cäcilienverein.

From 1998 to 2001 Werner Rollenmüller went back to the "classroom" to perfect his vocal training with Jan-Hendrik Rootering. For four years he then appeared as basso cantante at the Pforzheim Theatre before beginning his engagement with the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks in October 2004. As a recitalist he is particularly devoted to the song repertoire of Franz Schubert and has frequently performed that composer's Die Schöne Müllerin, Die Winterreise and Der Schwanengesang .
