The German mezzo-soprano, Laura-Maria Püsch, began her vocal training at the Landesmusikgymnasium in Montabaur. After graduating from high school in 2014, she completed training as an amateur ensemble leader at the Berufsfachschule für Musik in Bad Königshofen i.Gr. (headed by Professor Ernst Oeststreicher), which she completed two years later with distinction. During this time she was a student in Brigitte Schmidt's singing class. From October 2016 to September 2020 she studied singing pedagogy at the Wiesbadener Musikakademie in the class of Maria Tuczek-Graf. She successfully completed the WMA with a Bachelor of Music degree with distinction. From October/November 2020 she started her studied for Master of Music degree in early music with a major in Baroque singing at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in the class of Professor Kai Wessel.
Laura-Maria Püsch can already look back on a very diverse membership in various, sometimes high-quality ensembles. Mention should be made here of the Landesjugendchor Rheinland-Pfalz (including concert tours to Italy/South Tyrol and Rügen), Konzertchor Wirges (Director: Burkhart A. Schmitt), and Vokalensemble ProMusica Koblenz (Director: Cynthia Grose). She is currently a member of the Extrachor des Hessischen Staatstheaters Wiesbaden under choir director Albert Horne, as well as the Rhein-Main-Kammerchores (Director: Johannes Püschel), which performed in the 2018-2019 season at the Staatstheater Darmstadt for the Olivier Messiaen's opera Saint François d'Assise was engaged as a guest choir.
In addition to her studies, Laura-Maria Püsch also works as a singing teacher and vocal coach. She supervises a small school class at Nadias Musikschule in Rüsselsheim and is now starting a new position as a voice coach at the Mädchenchor Wiesbaden.
A special preference for early music brought Laura-Maria Püsch to the Internationalen Maifestspielen am Staatstheater Wiesbaden, where she performed in concerts with the Collegium Vocale under the direction of Christian Pfeifer and the Ensemble Mattiacis (Director: Thomas de Vries). She has participated in performances of some Baroque operas. Musically, she has often been able to work together with Christian Pfeifer in the context of church music at the Bergkirche. She has already played a musical role in a number of church services and smaller concerts, and in 2019 she was alto soloist in the performance of George Frideric Handel's Messiah (English original language). Since October 2021, she is academist at the Akademistin at Chorakademie of the WDR Rundfunkchor Köln. |
