The Russian soprano, Anna Princeva, began to play the piano at the age of 5. She went on to study piano, voice and choral conducting at the Conservatory in her hometown of St. Petersburg, before moving to Italy in 2002. From 2004 on, she concentrated on her voice studies at Pergolesi Conservatory. In 2007 she finished her studies with a diploma. She also participates in various master-classes, among others, with Francisco Araiza and Grace Bumbry
In 2004, Anna Princeva began an active concert career, during which she has given numerous concerts, performing in various Italian cities as well as in St. Petersburg and Bangkok. She gave her debut as Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto in 2006. She appeared as Pia in Donizetti's Pia de’ Tolomei in 2007, as the Priestess in Aida , Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte in 2008 and well as Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata , at the theaters of Rovigo and Vicenza. Her favourite role, however, is still Verdi’s Gilda.
In 2008, Anna Princeva took part in a master-class by Gustav Kuhn and became a member of his Accademia di Montegral . In July 2008 she appeared for the first time at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl in Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 8. In May 2010 she performed as a soloist at the Kammermusik Festival Accademia di Montegral presenting col legno musica under the conduction of Gustav Kuhn. During the summer she sang the bride in the premiere of Die Hochzeit
by Ernst Ludwig Leitner and Alois Schöpf at the Tiroler Festspiele in Erl. This was followed by concerts and other role debuts, as well as regular performances under the direction of Gustav Kuhn at the Tiroler Festspiele. In December 2010, after finishing the Neue Stimmen Master Class, she sang in George Frideric Handel’s Messiah with the Haydn Orchestra under the conduction of T. De Patalung in Bozen and Trent.
Anna Princeva sang the role of Desdemona in Rossini's Otello at the Festspielen Südtirol and celebrated a great success in March 2012 at World Bach-Fest in Florence in a performance of J.S. Bach’s Wedding Cantata (BWV 202). At the opening of the new Festival Hall in Erl in January 2013, she was hailed as Abigaile in Nabucco by public and press alike. At this Festival she sang in the summer of 2013 as Leonora in Verdi's Il Trovatore and in the winter season 2013-2014 she will sing Donna Anna in Mozart's Don Giovanni. |
