The choral group "I Polifonici Vicentini" was formed in 1980 as the "Choral Group of Isola Vicentina". It offers a wide repertoire of choral music, even romantic and contemporary, and plays preferably the Great Polyphony sacred and profane. It joins periodically the Baroque instrumental group of Vicenza, I Musicali Affetti for the execution of important works of Monteverdi, J.S. Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, George Frideric Handel and with the Orchestra of the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza for works by Mozart, Schubert, Bruckner, Zotto.
I Polifonici Vicentini also made recordings of music by contemporary composers, from Pressato to Durighello, from Lanaro to Crestani, from Signorini to Zotto, as well as the versatile friend Bepi De Marzi, which agreed to act as narrator in The Passion of Christ according to John by Francesco Corteccia. The group, as well as express themselves in all the components, can be divided into small chamber ensembles and soloists to perform special works. In 2010 it celebrated 30 years with a concert in St. Michael's Church in Vienna and the recording of the CD "Music and Poetry", with music by Bepi De Marzi, in the version for chorus and instrumental ensemble of Lorenzo Signorini. It has been invited to sing at St. Mass presided by the Holy Father on the occasion of his pastoral visit to the churches of the triveneto (May 8, 2011). It's directed since its foundation, by PierLuigi Comparin. |
