The Argentinean soprano, Nora Plaza, began hher studies at an early age as a guitarist, at the Conservatorio Nacional C. L. Buchardo.She beGan her sinmging studies with Carmen Favre, supplementing her repertoire studies with Marcela Esoin, Dante Ranieri, Rozita Zozoulia and Guillermo Salgado. She completed courses with the Opitz (Italian and French chamber music), and Graciela Alperyn.
During her studies, Nora Plaza began performing in various places in Buenos Aires. She first performed as a soloist at age 18, with the Coro Nacional de Jóvenes directed by Néstor Zadoff, singing the Mass in G by Gabriel Fauré. She had her first operatic role with the Orquesta de San Martín conducted by Spina as the Queen of the Night in The W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. From then on he has performed several primary and co-primary roles for various companies such as the Casa de la Ópera, Ópera en Concierto, Juventus Lyrica and Buenos Aires Lírica, appearing in such venues as the Teatro Avenida, Teatro Roma, Universidad de Bellas Artes, Museo de Arte Decorativo, and others.
In the Centro de Experimentación of the Teatro Colón, Nora Plaza was engaged in the project of micro-operas by Martin Reijman performing the opera La Zapatera Prodigiosa, a work conducted by Marcelo Delgado and Bandina, The Telephone by Gian Carlo Menotti, conducted by Sergio Ratti. She starred in the opera Tierra del Fuego “El Misterio del Origen” ("The Mystery of Origin") realized in the prison of Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego) conducted by Mauricio Annunziatta, being broadcast live in Italy.
Nora Plaza has performed several concerts including: Consejo Profesional de Ciencias Económicas (City of Buenos Aires), Dante Alighieri (center of Tucuman and Belgrano), Teatro Margarita Xirgu, Templo de la Logia de la Argentina de Libres y Aceptados Masones, Casa de Victoria Ocampo (Mar del Plata), Sociedad Coral Alemana, Yacht Club Argentino (Buenos Aires and Mar del Plata), Sociedad Friulana de Buenos Aires, Teatro El Globo, Aula Magna de la Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (Tandil), etc.
Nora Plaza has completed two years perfecting phenomenology and chamber music with Jordi Mora, making closing concert at Santa María de la Armonía. |
