The Polish bass, Piotr Pieron, graduated from Jerzy Artysz’s class at the University of Music in Warsaw. He is also a choral conducting graduate from the class of Mieczysław Nowakowski.
As a soloist, Piotr Pieron made his debut in March 2007 in Karol Kurpiński’s Henryk VI na łowach [Henry VI at the hunt], on the boards of the Warsaw Chamber Opera, with which he is currently associated. He has also worked at the Grand Theatre in Poznań in Giuseppe Verdi’s opera Ernani. In 2010, following an invitation from Marc Minkowski, he took part in the festivals ‘Chopin and his Europe’ and ‘Wratislavia Cantans’. He has sung in Poland at the Warsaw Philharmonic and the Cracow Philharmonic and also abroad, at opera houses in Spain and Japan. In June 2013, he performed the solo bass part in L.v. Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in the Warsaw Philharmonic’s end-of-season concert.
Piotr Pieron is an active and experienced chamber singer, founder and artistic director of the renowned sextet proMODERN, the first vocal ensemble in Poland specialising in the performance of contemporary music. He has also worked as a choirmaster with the Ars Cantata choir and the academic ensemble of the Warsaw School of Economics, with which he has won prizes in Polish competitions. He is a member of the early music quartet Favola in Musica, renowned in Poland and abroad. Piotr Pieron has performed in many shows as a member of the soloists’ ensemble of the Warsaw Chamber Opera (September 2010-May 2022). His repertoire also includes a number of oratorios. He has performed as a soloist and chamber singer in Poland and abroad. He has also demonstrated his acting skills at the Ateneum and Polski theatres, and has participated in a number of jazz projects. He currently lives in Warsaw, Poland. |
