The German soprano, Gundula Peyerl, studied at the Musikhochschule Mannheim with Professor Vera Scherr and at the Musikhochschule Freiburg with Professor Ingeborg Most. After her studies of opera singing, she received further training with Professor Rudolf Piernay at the Musikhochschule Mannheim. She completed her training with master-classes of Regina Resnik and Josef Protschka. She was Prize-Winner in 1998 with the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin, in 1999 with the Internationale Robert-Stolz-Gesangswettbewerb in Hamburg, the Meistersänger-Wettbewerb in Nürnberg, Gesangswettbewerb "Alexander Girardi“ in Coburg and the Internationalen Hans-Gabor-Belvedere-Wettbewerb in Vienna. In addition she received a scholarship of the Deutschen Musikwettbewerb in Berlin.
Gundula Peyerl made her debut at the Wiener Kammeroper. Following that she was engaged for two years at the Opernhaus in Hof, where her important roles were Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel and Olympia in Hoffmanns Erzählungen. Since 2002-2003 season she is engaged at the Theater Aachen. She has already appeared there as Rose in Street Scene, as Despina in Così fan tutte, as Ännchen in Der Freischütz, as Atalanta in Xerxes and in the premiere of die perser by Klaus Lang. Her repertoire also includes Sophie in Rosenkavalier, and Adele in Fledermaus.
In concerts Gundula Peyerl appeared as a guest at the Staatstheater Stuttgart, the Opernhaus Kassel, the Musikhalle Hamburg, the Konzerthaus Berlin and the Kölner Philharmonie, and with ensembles as Nordwestdeutschen Philharmonie, Alt-Wiener-Strauß-Ensemble, Freiburger Barockorchester, as well as the Orchester des Westdeutschen Rundfunks, and participated in broadcast and CD productions. |
