Anne-Sophie Petit (Soprano)

Born: April 5, ____ - France

The French coloratura soprano, Anne-Sophie Petit, obtained her master's degree in anthropology in Paris and New Zealand. Then she obtained a DEM of singing at the CRR de Paris in the class of Claudine Le Coz. She later enrolled at the Haute Ecole de Musique (HEM) de Lausanne in the class of Stephan MacLeod, where she performed a Master of Solo Interpretation. In various projects of the HEM, she performed the Queen of the Night in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Sister Constance in the Francis Poulenc's Le Dialogue des Carmélites and Susanna in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro. She was a finalist of the Concours de Chant de Vivonne, and in 2019 won a third operetta prize unanimously at the Concours de Chant de Béziers.

Anne Sophie Petit is an eclectic musician whose repertoire crosses Baroque, opera, oratorio and contemporary music. She has worked as a soloist with conductors such as Didier Puntos, Leonardo García-Alarcón, Jesús López-Cobos, Stephan MacLeod, Frank Beermann and Joshua Weilerstein. At the Opéra de Lausanne, she sang the roles of Musetta in La Bohème, the Fairy in Cendrillon (Pauline Viardot) and Angélique in Chevaliers de la Table Ronde (Hervé). In the contemporary repertoire, she had the opportunity to sing Herzgewächse by Arnold Schoenberg, E la vita si cerca by William Blank and Mysteries of the Macabre by Ligeti. She regularly performs as a soloist with the ensemble Gli Angeli Genève (Director: Stephan MacLeod), in concert arias by W.A. Mozart and in the Mass in C major, as well as at the Utrecht Early Music Festival in cantatas by Rameau. She is also a member of La Chapelle Harmonique (Director: Valentin Tournet).

Her next projects include the study of the role of Countess Adele in Comte Ory by Rossini at the Fondation Royaumont on, the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte in Sion directed by Pierre Bleuse, as well as the roles of Délie and the 2nd Priestess in Acante et Céphise by Rameau at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, conducted by Alexis Kossenko. She was selected to be part of the Ravel promotion of the Académie Musicale Philippe Jaroussky for the 2019-2020 season.
