The Cuban mezzo-soprano, Amor Lilia Pérez, graduated in singing at the Superior Institute of Art of Havana and was aoloist at the Organico Nazionale dei concerti di Cuba and at the State Opera House, until 1988. In Italy she was a winner of numerous scholarships, competitions and lyrical chamber music, attended courses at the Accademia Chigiana, the Arte Lirica di Osimo and the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, with renowned masters such as A. Krauss, C. Bergonzi, C. Desderi and others.
Amor Lilia Pérez made her devut in 1999, at the Festival Scarlatti, at the Teatro Massimo of Palermo, in the role of Venus in Il Giardino d’Amore by Alessandro Scarlatti, with the Alessandro Stradella Consort under the direction of E. Velardi. Later, at the Sala Verdi del Conservatorio of Milan, she performed Il Giardino d’Amore and the oratorio Sedecia, Re di Gerusalemme by A Scarlatti.
Amor Lilia Pérez sang at the Festival Opera Barga and the Teatro la Pergola in Florence, under the direction of Jean-Claude Malgoire in the opera La Pancia ovvero il Potestà di Colognole by J. Melani; at the Palazzo Pitti in Florence in the edition of historical Euridice by J. Peri, during celebrations for the 400 years since the birth of opera; at the Festival Musica Sacra in Maastricht the oratorio I Pellegrini del Santo Sepolcro di Nostro Signore by Johann Adolf Hasse, under the direction of R. Gini. She sang with such orchestras as the Sinfonica Marchigiana, Pro Arte Marche, Regionale Toscana and others. She is also a chorus member at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
For Bongiovanni Amor Lilia Pérez recorded the oratorio Sedecia, Re di Gerusalemme and Il Giardino d’Amore by A Scarlatti. |
