The English soprano, Caferina Penny, attended the Junior Royal Northern College of Music, where she studied voice under Jenny Heslop and was awarded the Leverhulme and Ida Carroll scholarships to study voice. She currently studies at the Royal College of Music under the tutelage of Janis Kelly.
Caferina Penny has performed in venues across Britain and Europe; in 2016 she was afforded the opportunity to perform as a soloist at the Manchester Bridgewater Hall. During the same year she also performed as a soloist in the fabulous Burgos Cathedral, as well as in Salamanca, Ávila and Barcelona. In September 2017, she was nominated by the Alderley Edge Festival to take part in the North West Regional Championship of Festivals, where she won the vocal section. The role of En Sklave in Salome at the English National Opera is her first professional engagement (September-October 2018). |
