The Korean-born soprano, Sejin Park, received her first piano lessons at the age of 10. She began singing lessons at Sunhwa Art School, after which she studied at Ewha Womans University. She sang the role of Hansel in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel and recorded Gluck's Orfeo. In 2013 she won 1st Prize at the 26th International Student Music Competition. She took part in master-classes at the International Summer Academy Mozarteum Salzburg with Janet Perry and Helen Donath & Klaus Donath. She is currently (as of December 2017) studying opera and music theater at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg in the singing class of Michèle Crid and in the opera class of Gernot Sahler and Alexander von Pfeil. In June 2017 she sang the role of Lauretta in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi in a Mozarteum production staged by Alexander von Pfeil; and in December 2017 the role of Oberto in George Frideric Handel's Alcina. |
