The American bass, Maurice Overholt, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from the University of Florida (1991-1997). He also received a Performer's Certificate in Piano studying with Patricia Dinkins-Matthews and Holly Hughes, and graduated with highest honors. His composition professors there were Budd Udell and James Paul Sain. He obtained his Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York (1998-2000).
Maurice Overholt was Contemporary Music Director at Browncroft Community Church (June 1999-May 2001); General Music Teacher at Charter School of Science and Technology (August 2000-June 2001); Director of Worship Ministries at Browncroft Community Church (June 2001-November 2009); Interim Music Director at Lakeshore Community Church in Rochester, New York Area (January-August 2010). Since September 2010, he serves as Music Pastor at Lakeshore Community Church.
