The Argentinean soprano, Verónica Onetto, was born in a family of musicians, and conducted singing studies in Buenos Aires, her , hometown. She is a Fellow of the Fond National des Arts de Buenos Aires, and went to France to specialize in the early repertoire at the CNSMD in Lyon. She was awarded the First Prize at the Baroque Music Competition in Yamanashi (Japan), the Honorary Prize at the Concours de Musique Ancienne in Bruges (Belgium) and a finalist in the Brantôme Chamber Music Competition (France), working with Pedro Memelsdorff , Gabriel Garrido, Monique Zanetti, Jill Feldman and Jesper Christensen.
Verónica Onetto performs as a soloist in various ensembles such as Il Ballo, Rosasolis, La Capella Reial de Catalunya (Director: Jordi Savall), Canticum Novum, La Réjouissance, Ritratto dell’Amore, Les Alizés, Claroscuro, Les Roses Brèves, and La Fenice, and also founded her own ensemble, Sudestada, dedicated to Baroque music. She sings at numerous festivals and concert halls in France and abroad: Festivals of Sablé, Ambronay, Saint Genest Lerpt, Pontoise, Besançon-Montfaucon, The Midsummer Festival, Liaisons Musicales, Embaroquement Immédiat, Musica del Temps Passat, Les Concerts Parisiens, Festival Bach de Lausanne, Festival International de Musique de Sarrebourg, Palais Fesch d’Ajaccio, Théâtre de l’Épée de Bois, Théâtre de l’Arsenal, Opéra de Saint Etienne, Auditorium Saint Pierre des Cuisines… in Switzerland , Germany, Japan, Bratislava, Baku, Carthage, Buenos Aires ...
Attracted by multi-disciplinary research, Verónica Onetto has integrated opera productions and creations of shows: Euridice by J. Peri, Actéon by M.A. Charpentier, Clorinda and Les plaintes d’Arianne, on music by C. Monteverdi, Le Ballet Comique of the Reyne de B. de Beaujoyeulx (directed by Jean-Pierre de Beaujoyeulx, conducted by Gabriel Garrido), Les Décharnés (company Pic la Poule), Impromptus (improvisations joining dance and singing in unusual contexts) Musiques pour une Courtisane Vénitienne (staged by Jean-Denis Monory). She also co-founds the duo Las Rosas Brèves, dedicated to tango.
Since 2000, Verónica Onetto has collaborated with the musicology research team of the Université de Paris VIII, Euridice 1600-2000, in the framework of seminars, colloquies and productions, thus deepening her knowledge of the music of the first Baroque and in particular of The rhetorical aspect of it. She teaches singing at the CRD de Beauvais. |
