Eun-Kyung Oh (Soprano)

Born: South Korea

The Korean soprano Eun-Kyung Oh (Korean: 오은경), graduated from Seoul National University's College of Music Department of Vocal Music and the same graduate school. She won the Dong-A Competition, the Music Association Competition, and the Gaeumann Competition hosted by the New York Association of Vocal Music Professors (NYSTA), and received attention from the music industry from an early age, appearing in the Chosun Ilbo rookie concert and KBS newcomer concert.

Eun-Kyung Oh started with the role of Lucia in the opera Lucia di Lammermoor, followed by singing leading roles in operas as Chunhui, La Boheme, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni, W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte, Die Fledermaus, Un ballo in maschera, Chunhyangjeon, etc. She is active as a leading opera singer on the stage of the opera, and he also showed extraordinary passion for performing sacred works, performing as a soloist at the Seoul Oratorio Festival for several years. With the Seoul Motet Choir and the Seoul Baroque Singers, she has sung various performances such as W.A. Mozart, J.S. Bach and Verdi's Requiem, George Frideric Handel and Haydn's oratorios and sacred works, J.S. Bach's Passions, Masses and cantatas.

In the USA, Eun-Kyung Oh has appread at Elan Music Festival, Spencertown Academy guest performances, Eral Kim work presentations, etc. In Korea, she has collaborated with KBS Symphony Orchestra, Korean Symphony, Eurasian Phil, Prime Feel, Gyeonggi-do, Seongnam City, Suwon City, Baroque Ensemble, etc.

Eun-Kyung Oh is further increasing the depth of her performance through invited recitals in New York and Japan, as well as solo recitals in Korea. She released her album 'Vocalise', which she recorded in collaboration with the Ukrainian National Symphony Orchestra in February 2006, and have received great acclaim.

Eun-Kyung Oh is currently a professor at Sejong University's Department of Music in Seoul, South Korea.
