The Dutch mezzo-soprano, Aaike Nortier, started in 2019 in the JongTalentKlas at the ArtEZ Conservatorium Zwolle. Since August 2020, she studies for her Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Singing at the ArtEZ Conservatorium Zwolle (expected graduation: July 2024). Her principal study teacher is Claudia Patacca. As part of her Bachelor's degree, she has already enjoyed master-classes from singer Lenneke Ruiten and pianist Hans Eijsackers. On May 12, 2024, she placed second at the Princess Christina Competition.
Already during her studies, Aaike Nortier has particpated in several opera and concert productions. Since 2018, she has been allowed to play roles in the productions of operetta association La Mascotte Emmeloord (recent production: Les Quatres Jeunesses with the role of Zima). In May-September 2021, she sang and played in the production Georges Bizet's Carmen at Opera Spanga, with director Corina van Eijk and musical direction by conductor Tjalling Wijnstra and repetitor Mark van Nispen. In 2023, she played there the role of Monsieur Triquet in Tchaikovsky's Onegin. In February 2022, she sang three concerts with the Zeister Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Johan Olof. In November 2022, she was alto soloist in W.A. Mozart's Requiem at Euterpe in Deventer, Overijssel.
At the beginning of 2022, Aaike Nortier joined forces with Elles Venhuizen to found Operaduo Ventier. They are a young and dynamic duo that tries to bring opera back into society through performances for young and old. On May 14, 2022, she gave a Lieder recital at the Internationaal Lied Festival Zeist. |
