The American soprano, choral conductor and educator, Hannah Nacheman, obtained her dual Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Psychology Cum laude from Bryn Mawr College (2011-2015); and her Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from Manhattan School of Music (2017-2019) , with continued studies at The Juilliard School.
A lifelong musician and arts advocate, Hannah Nacheman has performed on many prestigious stages including Alice Tully Hall, David Geffen Hall, the David H. Koch Theater of Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, and Carnegie Hall.
Hannah Nacheman currently serves as Director of Mixed Chorus and Adjunct Professor at St. John's University, Assistant Conductor to The Choral Society at Grace Church in New York City (since August 2019), and Teaching Artist for the VOCES8 Foundation. She is one of the co-creators of Girls Who Conduct, a mentorship program for young women and non-binary musicians, whose mission is to foster diversity and inclusion in classical music. Furthermore, she serves as Guest Faculty for the Juilliard School Preparatory Division (since March 2022), and this season she serves as Resident Assistant Conductor for City Lyric Opera's production of Pauline Viardot's Cendrillon. She has previously served as Director of the Primo Coro ensemble of the New Jersey Youth Chorus (since August 2019) and Assistant Conductor to the National Children's Chorus (2017-August 2019).
In addition to vocal performance, Hannah Nacheman's her musical training includes harp, piano, and violin, which she teaches in her private studio, along with conducting and musicianship. Her specialized pedagogical work focuses on music and the brain - her research, studying the many positive effects of music, enables her to provide students with a musical toolkit with which to better approach all aspects of their lives.
Combining the creative skills Hannah Nacheman has acquired from her music background with extensive critical inquiry, gained through research in Psychology, she is equipped with the tools needed to take on a variety of tasks from unconventional and innovative angles. Her interests further include journalism and communications. She has editorial skills, with strong digital media comprehension. Her degrees have well prepared me to consistently exhibit a strong attention to detail while maintaining creativity and flexibility. She is currently based in New York City. |
