The Swiss (?) soprano, Martina Musacchio, studied at the Conservatoire de Genève with Ursula Buckel, at the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence with Andreina Desderi, at the Musikhochschule in Munich with Hanno Blaschke in 1980-1981 and was in the Opera Studio in Zürich in 1981-1982 as a member of the local opera house.
From 1982 to 1985 Martina Musacchio was engaged at the Stadttheater of Lucerne, and since then went to Geneva and made extensive guest appearances from her home. So she gave performances at the Deutschen Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf-Duisburg, at the Staatstheater Darmstadt, at the Teatro Fenice in Venice, at the Teatro Sociale in Mantua, at the Teatro Verdi in Busseto, at the Opéra de Chambre in Geneva, in Lausanne and the Ravenna Festival.
Martina Musacchio's stage repertoire included a variety of roles: Susanna in Marriage of Figaro, Zerline in Don Giovanni, Despina in Così fan tutte, Pamina and Papagena in Zauberflöte, Marzellina in Fidelio, Norina in Don Pasquale, Adina and Giannetta in Elisir d'amore, the title heroine in Flotow's Martha, Micaela in Carmen, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, Angélique in the eponymous opera by Ibert, Euridice in Orpheus by Gluck, the title character in Die Kluge by Carl Orff and Ismene in Antigone by Arthur Honegger. In 1990 she sang at the Théâtre Châtelet in Paris the role of Oberto in Alcina by George Frideric Handel.
As a concert singer, Martina Musacchio has appeared with great success in Switzerland and Germany (Hamburg, Mainz, Munich, Stuttgart), in Paris, Venice, Bilbao, Burgos and Madrid. She mastered a wide concert repertoire, from works of the Baroque era (J.S. Bach, G.F. Handel) to contemporary compositions and songs from all eras of music history.
