The Spanish baritone, Joan Miquel Muñoz, Muñoz graduated, from the University of Illes Balears with a degree in Music Educational Practice and Teaching. He got enrolled in several choirs at Sant Josep Obrer Primary School, where he started his music education and took singing classes with teacher Margalida Ripoll. He has been a member of the University of Illes Balears Choir and the Catalan Youth Choir (Cor Jove dels Països Catalans) since 2010. Besides, he is a member of the World Youth Choir since 2012, world-widely acknowledged as UNESCO Artist for Peace. He has been trained by Fanny Marí, Antoni Aragón, Joana Llabrés, David Mason and Michelle Wegwart. He is currently studying singing with Josep Miquel Ribot at the Conservatori Superior de les Illes Balears.
Highlights amongst Joan Miquel Muñoz' performances include George Frideric Handel's Messiah at Teatre Principal de Palma, Robert Schumann's Requiem für Mignon at Palau de la Música Catalana de Barcelona, L.v. Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 at Castell de Bellver and Gabriel Fauré's Requiem along with the Illes Balears Symphony Orchestra. He has also collaborated with the Catalan Youth Orchestra as well as with the Ars Musicae Baroque Orchestra. Likewise, he has taken part in the I Setmana Lírica de Santanyí performing Bartolo and Antonio in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro. He has recently performed the Five Mystical Songs by Ralph Vaughan Williams together with the Conservatori Superior de les Illes Balears Symphony Orchestra and the University of Illes Balears Choir. |
