The Spanish tenor and pianist, Adolfo Muñoz, began his musical studies in Bilbao. He studied at the Conservatorio de Salamanca with Professor Patrín García-Barredo in the specialty of Piano and with Alberto Rosado in Chamber Music. He obtained the degree of Senior Piano Teacher receiving the Extraordinary End of Degree Award. At the end of his studies he is awarded a scholarship by the Fundación Cultural “La Gaceta” to continue his training in Berlin, where he worked with the pianist Dinorah Varsi for two years. He completed his academic training by attending piano interpretation courses and receiving master-classes from Maria-João Pires, Josep Mª Colom, Rita Wagner, Luca Chiantore, Graham Jackson, Wolfgang Rübsam, Claudio Martínez-Mehner, Heidi-Sophia Hase, Antonio Baciero and Ana Guijarro, among others.
Adolfo Muñoz has given numerous piano recitals, both as a soloist and member of chamber groups in cities such as Berlin, Basel, Madrid, Santiago de Compostela, Toledo, León, Gijón, Salamanca and Ávila, among others. He has made recordings for different television channels and has also collaborated in the recording of soundtracks for cinema.
Adolfo Muñoz has a special interest in the dissemination of contemporary music that has led him to perform recitals about the birth of atonality, teach courses on the contemporary piano or the history of the piano in jazz and give lectures on avant-garde figures as well as on various aspects of the evolution of musical language throughout the 20th century.
Adolfo Muñoz' interest in vocal music means that he usually works with singers and collaborates as a repertorist in the singing courses of Lola Arenas. He is currently finishing his official singing studies at the Conservatorio Profesional de León. He has been a member of the Karl-Forster-Chor Berlin, Coro de Cámara de la Universidad de Salamanca and Coro Ars Nova de Salamanca. He has taken vocal technique courses with Lola Arenas, Andrew King, José Hernández-Pastor and Marcos García and has assisted as a repertorist to the Liedc master-classes of Burkhard Kehring.
Adolfo Muñoz currently works as a piano, accompaniment and improvisation teacher at the " Conservatorio Profesional de Música “Ángel Barja” de Astorga (León). |
