The German mezzo-soprano, Helga Müller-Molinari, studied first in Munich with the famous soprano Felicie Hüni-Mihaczek, then in Wuppertal of Mrs. Becker-Brill. In 1972-1973 she was engaged at the Staatstheater Saarbrücken. She went to Italy to complete her training and studied there with Maria Teresa Pediconi and with the great mezzo-soprano Giulietta Simionato in Rome.
Helga Müller-Molinari began then her Italian career, and already in 1975 made her debut at Milan's La Scala in L'Enfant et les sortilèges by Ravel. Since then she had great successes at this prominent Italian opera house. In 1979 she participated there in the small house (Piccola Scala) in the Baroque opera Tito Manlio by Antonio Vivaldi. She appeared as a guest on the big stages of Italy, at the opera houses of Nancy and Dublin and sang at the Salzburg Festival. She could be heard there in 1983-1988 as Annina in Rosenkavalier, in 1985-1986 as 2nd Lady in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, and in 1983 and 1985 in concerts. She specialised in the technically difficult roles for Coloratura Contralto in the operas of Rossini, which she performed at the Festivals of Pesaro and in many other opportunities. Besides, she managed an extensive stage and concert repertoire, the high picks of which were the W.A. Mozart repertoire and works from the Baroque period. Among her bright roles on the stage ranked also Octavian in Rosenkavalier, which she sang, among other places, in 1984 in Dublin, in 1986 at the Teatro Regio Turin and at Milan's La Scala. She made guest appearances: in 1984 at the Teatro Liceo Barcelona as Cherubino in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, in 1988 at the Teatro Regio Turin as Carmen, in 1989 at the opera of Monte Carlo in Le Portrait de Manon by Massenet, in 1991 at the Teatro Verdi Triest as Charlotte in Massenet's Werther, and in 1995 in Madrid as Jocasta in Oedipus Rex by Igor Stravinsky.
